Station Crew Opens Hatches to ATV-2
The thrusters of the newly arrived "Johannes Kepler" Automated Transfer Vehicle-2 were tested Friday beginning at 5:33 a.m. EST with a 3-minute, 18-second firing lifting the station?s orbit by 1.1 statute miles. The thruster firing provided proof that the vehicle could perform a reboost as expected and positioned the station for the next round of Russian Soyuz vehicle operations.
