Since activating the Firefox Update system and alerting Firefox 3.5 and 3.6 users to the availability of Firefox 4, the line has really picked up some speed.
Internet Explorer 9's trajectory looks very similar to what we saw with IE8 and IE7 before it. Microsoft pushes new versions at an excruciatingly slow pace. At least this time, with all of IE9's important improvements, every point makes a real positive difference for the Web.
We should all be cheering on the HTML5 browsers as they race forward. It's only been 8 months since the modern browsers took the overall usage lead from the archaic IE 6+7+8 versions and today we're at about 60:40 so we are making strong progress. A year from now, that could be nearing 80:20 !!
